Junior Achievement: Empowering young people to own their economic success

Lamberts Mill Academy would like to send a big thank you to Christy Tighe the Director of College and Career Readiness - Junior Achievement of New Jersey and Josh Bornstein the Director of Special Projects from UCESC for inviting us to The Junior Achievement of New Jersey Seminar.  On March 31st, students from Lamberts Mill Academy attended the Junior Achievement program  at the Celgene Corporation in Summit, NJ. This program uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the business of life. In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential and preparing them for the world of work. Students were able to collaborate with professionals on a variety of team building and problem solving activities and gain real life experience for their transition goals. Students were treated as professionals and given a tour of the Celgene Corporation.  They were introduced to the many exciting careers available to them as well as the proper routes in education and training to achieve those careers.

To learn more about the program, contact David Young, Supervisor of Instruction, at (908) 233-7581.
