Superintendent's Message

Terry Foppert, Superintendent
Union County Educational Services Commission

Thank you for visiting our website. I am delighted you are interested in the schools and programs provided by the Union County Educational Services Commission. As you investigate our site I hope it becomes apparent how proud we are of the services we offer.

Our highly trained staff members are committed to designing educational programs that meet the individual needs of each student. Progress is monitored carefully with both small and large student achievements celebrated each day.

In collaboration with local public school districts we work tirelessly to support our students and their families. We recognize the importance of the home to school connection in helping our students develop the skills and knowledge needed to become successful adults. Parent input is encouraged and school visits are always welcome.

As the Superintendent of UCESC, I have seen our programs make great strides in academics, behavior management, and vocational training. We set our expectations high because we see the potential and underlying talents in all our students.

Students come to us because they have unique challenges or they are not succeeding in their current placement. However, with a fresh start at UCESC many of these same students thrive. Our reward is when a parent thanks us for the new skills their child learned, or when a student says “I got a second chance here” before heading off to a college placement.

I have heard it said that the Union County Educational Services Commission is the best kept secret in the area.  Based on my experiences in special education over the past 30 years, I can affirm that yes, UCESC does have amazing staff and programs, and more importantly our students are happy and successful.

Again I want to thank you for your interest and encourage you to come and visit our schools. Please call us to set up a tour.
